On the morning of Monday, September 22, 2025, Mobile Police responded around 10:00 a.m. to a residence in the 1300 block of East Linwood Drive, after a report of a man found dead inside a home. The victim was later identified as Kamron Killings, a 24-year-old local whose life ended under tragic circumstances.
Investigators say Kamron was shot the night before—on Sunday, September 21—by an acquaintance, Jaylin Roberts-Westry, age 18. Following the shooting, Roberts-Westry is accused of stealing Kamron’s vehicle.

Hours later, in the early hours of Monday, Roberts-Westry was spotted by police driving a vehicle with its headlights off, on McVay Drive. When he failed to stop for officers, a pursuit ensued, ultimately ending in the 200 block of Government Street. There he was arrested and taken into custody at the Metro Jail.
The Mobile Police Department has classified the incident a homicide. While certain details remain under investigation, authorities have not yet released information about how Kamron died, citing investigative protocol and the need to notify next of kin.
Family, neighbors, and friends remember Kamron for his bright smile, his generous nature, and his deep loyalty. He was someone who sought to uplift others even when dealing with his own struggles. His plans for the future, and the love he held for those close to him, marked him as someone with both hope and purpose. These memories now stand as legacy. (This builds on what those who knew him have shared.)
Though the reality of his absence now weighs heavily, those who loved him look to hold tight to every moment he shared: laughter, kindness, small acts of care. In the silence left behind, each memory becomes more precious—his voice, his laughter, the way he made others feel seen.
Kamron’s passing reminds us how fragile life can be, and how deeply we are connected when tragedy strikes. May he rest in peace, and may the strength of family, friends, and community bring comfort in this time of sorrow.
