LANDRUM, S.C. – A 22-year-old man lost his life in a fatal overnight crash in Spartanburg County, according to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office.

The crash occurred shortly after midnight on Wednesday, March 13, along Asheville Highway in the Grambling community.

Upon arrival at the scene, emergency responders confirmed that the driver, identified as Rickey Levi Hyder, succumbed to his injuries as a result of the crash.

Authorities have not yet released details regarding the cause of the crash or whether other vehicles were involved.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office are conducting an investigation into the circumstances leading up to the incident.
