Corpus Christi, Texas: Motorcyclist killed in fatal vehicle accident on the city’s Southside

A 64-year-old motorcyclist, John Bryant, lost his life in a crash on the city’s Southside.
Bryant was reportedly on his way to officiate a baseball game when the crash happened.

The accident happened at the intersection of Airline and Holly Road on Saturday, March 15, at 7:26 a.m.
According to the Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD), officers arrived to find a two-vehicle crash involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle. Paramedics rushed the motorcyclist to the hospital, but he later died from his injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt.

Investigators determined that the pickup driver was heading west on Holly Road and attempted to turn south onto Airline Road while facing a flashing yellow turn arrow. At the same time, the motorcyclist was traveling east through the intersection when the pickup struck him.

Police cited the pickup driver for failing to yield while making a left turn. However, officers confirmed he was not intoxicated at the time of the crash. It is unclear if the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.
