At approximately 9:00 a.m., Deputy D. Wilson and Corporal M. Sledge of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance call at a retail store located at the intersection of Highway 561 and Evans Road in Hollister. Upon arrival, deputies found Taevon Evans engaged in a heated altercation with a female individual.
As officers approached, Evans allegedly became confrontational and fled the scene in the female victim’s vehicle. Deputy Wilson attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but Evans refused to comply, leading to a pursuit that extended into Warren County.
The chase concluded when Evans lost control of the stolen vehicle and crashed on Richardson Road. He was promptly apprehended at the scene without further incident.
