MIDLAND, TEXAS – An 18-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a fatal crash Tuesday evening near Midland Park Mall, according to local authorities.
The Midland Police Department (MPD) confirmed that the victim, Kaden Ray Barron, a resident of Midland, was killed in the accident.
Emergency responders from Midland Fire and Police were dispatched at approximately 6:41 p.m. on March 11 to the intersection of Midkiff Road and Moss Avenue following reports of a motorcycle-vehicle collision.
According to MPD’s preliminary findings:
A Chevrolet Blazer was in the process of making a turn into the Midland Park Mall when a Kawasaki motorcycle collided with the vehicle.
Witnesses reported that the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving through traffic just before impact.
The force of the collision resulted in fatal injuries to Barron, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine all contributing factors in the crash.
