WILSON, NC – A Wilson man has been arrested and charged with the murders of his mother and brother, just days after being released from prison on parole.
Authorities identified the suspect as Da’Ron Donte Jenkins, who was released from prison on March 25, 2024, after serving time since 2021 for breaking and entering, larceny, and malicious conduct.
On March 27, at approximately 5:20 p.m., Wilson Police officers responded to a residence at 1702 Snowden Drive SE, Apartment A, following a call for assistance.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Dana Jenkins, the suspect’s mother, and Daryn Da’Shon Cox, his brother, deceased at the scene.
Dana Jenkins had reportedly expressed joy online about her son’s recent release from prison, only to tragically lose her life at his hands.
Jenkins was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Wilson County Jail without bond.
He has been formally charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
The investigation remains ongoing.
