She Loved So Deeply — He Left So Sudden: Pritchard Street Murder-Suicide Shakes Milledgeville

Milledgeville, Ga. — In the quiet hours before midday Thursday, heartbreak struck a home on Pritchard Street when 36-year-old Tavious Antwon Spencer allegedly shot 38-year-old Lashonda Lawrence before taking his own life. The Milledgeville Police Department believes the tragedy occurred sometime between 7 a.m. and noon, though officers were not alerted until about 3:30 p.m., when they discovered both adults dead from gunshot wounds.

Lawrence and Spencer were both residents of Milledgeville. Their bodies have been transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab in Macon for autopsies, which are expected to clarify the timeline and other forensic details.

Authorities say there is no continued threat to the public, describing the incident as isolated to that residence. Detectives are reviewing evidence, speaking with potential witnesses, and examining what led to this devastating act.

Much remains unknown: the nature of the relationship between Spencer and Lawrence, what may have triggered the violence, and whether any warning signs were ignored.

Officials are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Michael McLeroy at (478) 414-4090, or anonymously through Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME.

Milledgeville is left reeling – two lives ended, many questions still unanswered, and a community once again reminded of the fragile line between love and loss.
