MANHEIM TOWNSHIP, PA – Emergency crews are responding to the scene of a small aircraft crash that occurred Sunday afternoon in Manheim Township, Pennsylvania.

According to authorities, the aircraft, identified as N347M, took off from Lancaster Airport at approximately 3:15 p.m. ET.

Shortly after takeoff, the plane experienced unknown issues and went down, crashing in the parking lot of the Brethren Village Retirement Community near Fairview Drive and Meadowview Court.

Emergency dispatch confirmed that the crash happened around 3:20 p.m., igniting multiple vehicles in the parking lot.

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

Authorities have reported multiple injuries, though the extent of those injuries has not been disclosed.

Staff and residents of the Brethren Village Retirement Community have been instructed to remain indoors while emergency crews secure the scene.

Due to the ongoing emergency response, Route 501 in the area has been closed to traffic.
