SAGINAW, Mich. — Authorities in Saginaw are actively investigating the homicide of a 27-year-old woman from California who was found dead early Saturday morning on the city’s west side.

According to the Saginaw Police Department, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 block of Cypress Street around 4:14 a.m. on April 5, 2025, following a report of a female shooting victim.

Upon arrival, officers located the victim, identified as Eliza Vega, deceased inside the home.

The case is being investigated by detectives from the Saginaw Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Michigan State Police.

No arrests have been made as of this time, and investigators are working to determine the circumstances leading to Vega’s death.
