LAKE CHARLES, LA – Authorities in Calcasieu Parish are actively investigating a tragic shooting that claimed the life of a 13-year-old boy early Sunday morning outside a local bar.
The victim has been identified as Da’Montrea Augustus, according to Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Kayla Vincent.
The fatal shooting occurred around 5 a.m. on Sunday, March 9, in the parking lot of Cowboys, a bar located on Common Street in Lake Charles.
Law enforcement officials responded to reports of gunfire and, upon arrival, discovered the 13-year-old victim fatally wounded.
